An Antique American Stained and Jeweled Transom from Chicago, circa 1890 with a Fruit Medallion center. This and a second transom from the same house (fid5127) are truly stunning. Wonderful glass throughout with Jewels interspersed throughout the interior. The Central medallion which is itself surrounded by a jeweled belt is composed of Fruit, Leaves and Vines. This medallion (and the one in the companion window from the same home) is intentionally convex towards the interior. In its original frame the window measures 66.75” X 26” and is in very good condition. Four pieces were missing and replaced with appropriate old salvaged glass; the window has been cleaned and re-cemented and a couple of copper reinforcement wires were replaced. There are a few cracks, primarily in the border, and there are two leaves which have cracks Price for the window as is: $6,500.00
