fid#6043-Post Restoration

Shown below are pictures of the window panel post restoration.  Missing glass was replaced with matching antique glass as was the jewel.

The previous reinforcing system, consisting of vertical bars and horizontal rods, wired to the lead came has been replaced with 4 vertical 1/8" x 1/2" metal bars.  This new reinforcement system spans the series of horizontal lead lines across the bottom where the window previously failed.  These new bars have been bent to conform to the bottom of the columns and have been soldered their entire length to the lead came.

The window has been re-cemented and various joints were re-soldered as needed.

Finally the window has been encased in a new Mahogany frame (same wood and construction methods as in the Tiffany Flag window).  The frame has 2 coats of Shellac on it.

The restoration in my opinion is very good and I would expect, meeting  your standards.

The price of the original window was $12,000.00

Replacement glass has cost $400.00

Restoration cost is $1,500.00

Framing including wood is $500.00

Total cost of the restored window is $14,400.00
