A truly exceptional pair of Antique American Floral Stained Glass Windows with Chunk Jewels from Buffalo, New York. These windows, almost assuredly by Rudy Brothers, were installed in a home built by a monument maker in about 1905. (This is when the home was built, however I feel the windows are probably 10-15 years older.) I removed the windows (as well as a very nice floral transom, fid7051) from the home myself this past fall. The windows, originally in one frame, are in fact two separate panels. They are in good condition, with some cracking and indications of an unfortunate incident probably involving a baseball. For the last 30+ years they were been protected from the elements, and small children, by a storm panel which is visible in one of the pictures showing the set 'in situ'. The colors are extraordinary, the chunk glass jewels surrounding the central panels are huge, and the floral centers have spectacular glass. These central panels are not identical and indeed one contains a Butterfly. Having said all of this, these are among the most exceptional windows I've ever owned. The pair have been separated and the missing glass from the 'baseball incident' replaced. The panels were flattened, a new lead came perimeter was affixed and they were then re-cemented. (The original copper wires for attaching the panels to the reinforcing rods were removed as the re-cemented panels are quite rigid.) The restored panels have been installed in new Mahogany frames which each measure 22" x 51.5" Price: $22,500.00
