Lamb Studio's Figural Window 43" x 71" fid9004

An Antique American Stained and Painted Glass Figural Window.  I would think this is most likely from Lamb Studio's.

This window was in very rough condition when I acquired it.  It had been subjected to water in some manner and most of the plated sections were badly discolored with dirt having filtered in between the layers.

The restoration process for this window involved removing almost all of the plating and cleaning and some paint touch-up and then recementing.  The result is a much clearer and stronger window.  I have included a picture below of the window in its un-restored state.

The window is in a replaced Oak frame which measures43" x 71".  The panel itself measures 36" x 58".  I think that the window is complete from side to side, however I think it likely that there was another panel above.  I do not think this panel was salvaged from within a larger panel, but it may have been part of a larger overall scene.

There is substantial cracking, much of which has been glued with significant improvement.  There has been some glass replacement in the sky and background.

I find the paintwork to be very nicely executed and the overall effect and quality of the window to be very good.   I think the composition is exceptional;  I find the glass to be very nice, most likely substantially from Kokomo, but not of the extraordinary variety, i.e. confetti or drapery glass.  I find none of the 'pond scum' type glass often found in Tiffany work.

Price:  $18,500.00
